There are also some Internet Explorer-specific features that you can utilise to achieve a more efficient online experience, such as:

Alternatively, you can always view and delete your browser history at will in Internet Explorer. With Internet Explorer, you can rest assured that you have control over your personal information online, keeping it protected.

  • Search suggest—based on your browser history, Internet Explorer recommends other sites, as well as search terms, apps, and content-based suggestions which you might be interested in. This makes web surfing fast and efficient.

  • Print webpages—Internet Explorer also offers easy print options to print entire webpages, or to print a picture from the page.

With emails for work, your personal life, or perhaps even a side business, sometimes just one email account simply won’t do. However, when you create an email account with mail.com, we also offer our Mail Collector Service, which allows you to manage multiple email accounts from one easy platform.

What is the Mail Collector Service from mail.com?

The Mail Collector Service from mail.com allows you to access multiple email accounts from a single location. If you are on the go, you can easily access multiple email accounts and your online calendar from your mobile device, and then when you get home or to the office, you can switch over and have full access from your laptop or desktop as well. Access to multiple accounts over several devices, that’s the mail.com difference.

Consolidation is key: all email in one place

Regardless of which email account providers you use, you can manage all of your multiple email accounts with mail.com. Our Mail Collector Service helps you consolidate all of your email in one location, whether business or personal, which allows you to more easily manage your correspondence.

Moreover, this impeccable service is all offered through our secure connection. Whether one email or multiple email accounts, security is important to everyone for all of their communications. At mail.com we give you peace of mind along with the simplicity of consolidated email all in one place.

How the Mail Collector Service works

In order to be able to use the Mail Collector Service, you first have to create an email account with mail.com to serve as your primary account. You can then import your email addresses from other services to your mail.com webmail account; at which point the Mail Collector automatically retrieves these emails and forwards them to your mail.com mailbox.

The mail.com Mail Collector works in a similar manner as Outlook or Thunderbird: emails are accessed via POP3. Your existing email history will all be retrieved after the Mail Collector has been set up; afterward, the Mail Collector will only retrieve the new emails that you receive. The emails are accessed with SSL encryption and then checked for spam. In addition, you can define rules for how the collected emails are sorted.

You have the following options when using the Mail Collector to manage multiple email accounts:

  • Delete emails from the other mailbox after they are retrieved by your mail.com mailbox
  • Save retrieved emails in a separate folder (otherwise they will appear in the inbox)
  • Use the Mail Collector email address when replying to/forwarding an email (otherwise the default address will be used)
  • If you have configured a Mail Collector, you can also use the external email address as the sender address in an email

Configuring the Mail Collector

Once you set up multiple email accounts to be forwarded to your mail.com account, you can edit the settings and configurations at any time. When you are logged into your mail.com account, simply go to the Mail Collector tool and to the email address that you would like to change. Just click on the wrench tool icon to open up editing options to make and save the relevant changes. Alternatively, you can also completely delete the email addresses from the Mail Collector by clicking the delete icon.

You can also configure sending options for your multiple email accounts individually or as a collective; this includes “priority”, “confidential”, “attach vcard”, “read receipt requests”, and an autoresponder for when you are going on holidays or are out of the office. To set an auto-response message across your multiple accounts, enter your email settings, click on “autoresponder”, and then move your mouse over the appropriate email addresses and click the wrench tool icon. Write your auto-response message and set a time period for the message and click save. If for whatever reason you need to deactivate your autoresponder within the allotted time period, simply switch the autoresponder time period to "never" and click “save”.

Stress-free, quick and efficient; with so many features and time-saving functions, the mail.com Mail Collector Service is your optimal solution to manage multiple email accounts with ease. Try it today!

Junkmail Filter

Remove frustration and reinstate functionality in your email communications with the mail.com email spam filter. Keep annoying, unsolicited mail at bay and also protect yourself against harmful viruses and malware embedded in spam emails. Trust the mail.com email spam blocker to intercept email spam and keep you worry-free.

Spam Filter – Over 90% less spam!

Email communication is an essential part of our daily lives. We use email accounts for both professional and personal reasons as they allow us to keep things documented and organized. So because email is such an important medium, having the right tools in place to block email spam and intercept emails with embedded viruses has never been more important.

The spam filter from mail.com keeps 90% of unsolicited emails out of your inbox and protects your email account against phishing, scams and unwanted advertisements. Even though email accounts with mail.com come with a lot of space for your emails, we know that you don’t want junk mail cluttering up your inbox, causing you to overlook or even delete important emails in the effort to remove the trash. To prevent this, we’ve implemented several layers of filters to block email spam effectively.

mail.com’s email spam blocker

The spam filter from mail.com consists of regularly updated, specific parameters and works to mark unsolicited email automatically as spam – this keep your mailbox free of annoying junk mail. Among other functions, the spam filter performs the following tasks:

  • Distinguish reputable emails from unsolicited bulk emails based on checksum methods.
  • Analyze emails for technical properties and errors that are typical of spam.
  • Check emails for fake sender addresses, i.e. was the email actually sent from the server responsible for the domain?
  • Compare emails with internal and external lists, e.g. IP addresses of servers known for sending spam or URLs that occur in known spam emails.

Personal Spam Filter

The mail.com spam filter is distinct from your personal spam filter, which you instruct in your mailbox by clicking Spam or Not Spam to move the emails to the appropriate folder. When you mark an email as spam, the next email from the same sender will automatically be moved to the spam folder.

The spam filter remembers the following properties:

  • The address of the email's sender
  • The text pattern of the email

Email addresses are simple. If you have marked an email address as spam and then receive another email from the same sender, or an email with a similar text pattern from another sender, the email is automatically sent to the spam folder.

The text pattern component in your personal spam filter works with wordlists that are created from the emails you have selected as Spam or Not Spam. The filter determines the frequency with which words occur in the selected emails and creates a custom model for your mailbox. This model is used together with probability methods to classify new emails as wanted or unwanted. Put simply: the more often a word occurs in wanted or unwanted emails, the more it is weighted during filtering.

To ensure that your personal spam filter functions perfectly, you have to move emails that you incorrectly saved as spam to the correct folder. If certain emails are saved in the wrong folder repeatedly, you can reset the spam filter in the Spam Protection settings.

Whitelist and blacklist functions of the Spam Filter

Although 90% spam filter efficiency is fantastic, it is still not 100%, so for the small and very persistent percentage that does manage to get through these several layers of protection, mail.com offers you the option to create spam lists to manage it.

Ultimately, your whitelist is all of the email addresses that you wish to receive emails from or deem to be trustworthy. By adding an address or domain to your whitelist, email from this source is automatically saved to your inbox and is not checked for spam. Since email addresses that are saved to your Contacts list are automatically saved to your inbox folder, we recommend that all whitelist addresses that you wish to receive emails from are also saved in your Contacts. Conversely, when you save an address or domain to your blacklist, emails from that address or domain are automatically sent to your spam folder.

The importance of spam blockers

Using a junk mail filter can not only save you a lot of time, but it can also save you from infecting your computer, and the computers of those on your contact list, with harmful viruses and malware. Gone are the days when email spam was just annoying, now it is downright dangerous, putting your hardware, software, and personal information at risk.

Of course, there is no way to stop 100% of email spam from coming; however, there are ways to keep it at bay:

  • Use a service with a great spam filter
  • Manually filter on your own for incorrectly filed emails that may have slipped through
  • Don’t open attachments from unknown addresses. Since viruses are often embedded in attachments, it is good practice to only open email attachmentsfrom senders that you trust.

Other features of the email spam blocker from mail.com

  • Automatically scans incoming and outgoing emails, including attachments, for spam and viruses
  • Personal control with spam list management
  • Several filters of protection and over 90% less spam
  • Comes as a standard feature on every mail.com email account
  • Helpful customer support
