A Groupon survey of 2,000 Americans revealed that more than 50 percent of people still have no idea what to buy someone on their list with moms and dads ranking as the most difficult family members to buy for this holiday season.

Everyone has that one friend who finished their holiday shopping on Dec. 1 (and they haven’t shut up about it since). For most of us, there are still a lot of boxes left to tick, and with Christmas falling on a Monday and shipping deadlines quickly expiring––things are starting to get grim. The reason? Some people are just impossible to buy for.

A Groupon survey of 2,000 Americans revealed that more than 50 percent of people still have no idea what to buy someone on their list with moms and dads ranking as the most difficult family members to buy for this holiday season. And this finding isn’t unique to just Groupon. According to the National Retail Federation, 90 percent of us fail to complete our holiday shopping by mid-December. The leading cause? Utter indecisiveness.

The survey, conducted by market researchers OnePoll and commissioned by Groupon, also found that shoppers become more certain of what they want to buy as they get older. Participants in the 18-24 age group said they were the most uncertain of what to buy while those 55 and older rated themselves as the most confident.

Some possible reasons your promo code didn't work: 

  • Some codes are for select subscribers only. You must be logged in to the account the promotion was sent to in order to use these.

Can I get a refund?

Our refund policy differs for each deal category we offer. Below is a breakdown for each:

Groupon Local vouchers

  • Any unredeemed, unprinted Groupon may be returned for a refund within the first three days after purchase.

  • Your Groupon is always worth at least the amount you paid for it—even if the promotional value has expired.

GrouponLive event tickets

  • Most tickets purchased through GrouponLive are Final Sale, unless the Fine Print states otherwise.

  • Please review our Extraordinary Event Policy for details on refund exceptions.

Groupon Goods merchandise

  • You can edit or cancel your order for two hours after your purchase.

  • After that, the address you supplied is given to the shipping provider and shipment can't be stopped.

  • Unless the Fine Print states otherwise, you can return Groupon Goods products within 14 days of receiving them.

  • This holiday season, purchases made between November 1 and December 25 can be returned until January 14, 2018.

  • Original shipping charges are not refundable on items returned due to customer preference/change of mind.

  • Returns shipped without using a Groupon-provided return label are not eligible for a refund and will be refused.

Groupon Getaways trips

  • If you chose the date of your trip when you purchased your deal, you'll be able to self-cancel it as long as you're within the hotel's cancellation policy. 

  • If you didn't choose your date when making your purchase, and the merchant is unable to book the stay you want during the available dates before the book-by date, we'll refund your purchase.

  • After the book-by date, you can still use your Groupon Getaways voucher for the price you paid for it.

In order to modify the email address tied to your Groupon account, you’ll need to sign into your account using a desktop computer.

Once you've signed in, click on your name in the top right corner and select Accountfrom the drop-down menu. You can change your email address and password on this page.
