Two Republican lawmakers call on Sessions to resign…

Republican Reps. Mark Meadows and Jim Jordan on Thursday called on Attorney General Jeff Sessions to resign in an op-ed published by the conservative Washington Examiner, citing leaks coming out of the FBI they said Sessions appeared unable to "control."

"Attorney General Jeff Sessions has recused himself from the Russia investigation, but it would appear he has no control at all of the premier law enforcement agency in the world," the lawmakers wrote.

"It is time for Sessions to start managing in a spirit of transparency to bring all of this improper behavior to light and stop further violations," they said. "If Sessions can't address this issue immediately, then we have one final question needing an answer: When is it time for a new attorney general? Sadly, it seems the answer is now."

Sanders delivers sharp response on President Trump’s mental …

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Thursday delivered a sharply worded response to a question about how President Trump is reacting to increasing questions about his mental fitness.

“The same way we have when it’s been asked before. It’s disgraceful and laughable,” she said. “If he was unfit, he probably wouldn’t be sitting there, wouldn’t have defeated the most qualified group of candidates the Republican Party has ever seen.”

“This is an incredibly strong and good leader,” Sanders further noted. “That’s why we’ve had such a successful 2017 and why we’re going to continue to do great things as we move forward in this administration.”

Boy, 6, returns from school with two broken arms…

BUSHWICK, Brooklyn (WPIX) — A Brooklyn mother was shocked when she picked her son up from his Bushwick school: both of the 6-year-old student's arms were broken.

Krystal Alejandro immediately asked school officials what had happened, but no one could explain it. Her son is in the after-school program at P.S. 106 and was in their care at the time. But neither the school nor the after-school program have taken responsibility for the boy during the afternoon playground accident.

"It's a horrible situation – me as a parent thinking that I can't go to work because I don't know if my son is safe," Alejandro said. "It's just a horrible feeling to see the pain that he went through."

Astros respond to Trump's White House invitation…

The World Series champions are going to Washington D.C.

Astros president of business operations Reid Ryan acknowledged Wednesday that Houston is "honored" by formally receiving an invite to the White House and that they will accept it.

When they will trek to the nation's capital to take part in a ceremony President Trump has helped politicize since taking office is not clear yet.

"This is a tradition and an honor. For many people, this might be their only time to ever be invited to the White House," Ryan told the Houston Chronicle. "And as the representatives of baseball and the World Series champs, when the White House calls and invites you to come up, it's something that as an organization we felt both a responsibility and an obligation to be part of."

Tucker Carlson turned down major WH role, book says…

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson was reportedly offered to serve as the White House press secretary. According to an excerpt published by GQ magazine from author Michael Wolff’s upcoming book, ‘Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,’ the offer was made during the transition.

Donald Trump is said to have been searching for a “star” to fill the post, and, before turning to Carlson, considered conservative commentator Ann Coulter, radio host Laura Ingraham, and Maria Bartiromo of Fox Business.

“When none of those ideas panned out, the job was offered to Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, who turned it down,” Wolff writes.
